John Grennan OCD

Academic Education:

  • A native of Co. Kilkenny, Ireland, John entered the Discalced Carmelite Order in 1963.
  • He studied philosophy at the Order’s House close to Oxford and Theology at the Milltown Institute, Dublin.
  • After Ordination in 1970, he did further studies at the Alphonsian Academy, Rome.
  • On his return, he taught Moral Theology and Spirituality at the Milltown Institute over a period of eighteen years.
  • Within the Order, he has served as local Superior, Provincial and General Definitor.
  • Currently, he is a member of the Iona Retreat Centre, Termonbacca, Derry, N. Ireland.
